Rocks
Mount. Pelee's is composed of andesites and basic andesites and dacites rocks. Which these rocks have characteristics that are typical of island-arc volcanos. The soil has a very high content of clay due to the vertisols which also contain high levels of plant nutrients and because of the nutrients fertilizer.
Above is vertisols which is soil with expansive clay.
